Sony: 535,000 VAIO F and CW Series notebooks face potential overheating issue

Sony has a potentially big issue on their hands considering nearly 535,000 laptops in the F and CW Series might have an overheating problem. Basically the heat-monitoring chips of the laptops don’t accurately monitor the heat produced by the laptop, and this problem is caused by a flawed BIOS. Sony VAIO Y ; Sony takes back ground in thin-and-light notebooks

Many of Sony’s 2010 notebooks now have bright colors as regular options, and the VAIO Y we’re looking at can be customized with any of six choices. Our review unit came in Pear Green; other exotic color options include Purple Violet and Teal Blue. Most of the color choices are loud and geared towards the college or home-use crowd, but more professional looking silver and black models are also available. More >
