There’s not much to say about the iAdapt HDMI V2‘s design other than that it’s well-built; it’s clearly meant to match the current aluminum and white aesthetic spread across most of the current Mac line. The cabling is thick and unlikely to fray or break unless you bend it to a clearly unreasonable angle. More >

It is no secret RIM is prepping an iPad-killer in the form of the BlackPad, a device that will reportedly be available by November for $499. As you would probably guess, RIM should use BlackBerry OS 6 on the BlackPad, maybe with a few minor upgrades and features, but it looks like RIM might go in another direction. Back in April, RIM purchased QNX Software Systems for a cool $200 million and word on the street is RIM wants QNX to create an OS for the BlackPad. More >

Samsung took Android hype to a new level when it launched the Galaxy S; it’s the first Android device to have a truly worldwide launch and to hit all US carriers within weeks. T-Mobile markets the phone under the name Samsung Vibrant but the hardware features and functionality are the same for other carriers who use the more popular Galaxy S moniker.
While T-Mobile does include a few software frills with its edition of the phone, we believe the Galaxy S is an excellent smartphone regardless of which cell phone carrier you choose and may make Apple slightly nervous — read our Vibrant review to find out why. More >

Google’s hinted at strategy for a Chrome OS tablet could have more definite plans if a rumor on Wednesday is accurate. An unidentified source claimed the tablet is real, being made by HTC and would ship on November 26. The Download Squad tip has the slate attached to its close partner Verizon and implied it would be subsidized heavily. More >
