Apple Patents Touchscreen Convertible Designs For Macs to Convert Between Their Standard and Touch Centric Configurations
Aug 25th

Patently Apple has put together an analysis of a patent Apple filed in Europe that describes a system for Macs to convert between their standard configurations and touch-centric configurations. PA believes it will switch automatically between Mac OS X and iOS. I’m not so sure.
The patent was published a while ago in January by the World Intellectual Property Organization under the patent name “Transitioning between Modes of Input”. True to its name, the patent does describe and demonstrate how an iMac and Macbook would switch between their usual configurations and more horizontal configurations better suited for touch input. BlackBerry Torch vs. iPhone 4 – Business Functions vs. Multimedia
Aug 4th

Much like the new iPhone builds on the strengths of earlier versions, this new BlackBerry isn’t trying to be anything but a better BlackBerry phone. The Torch isn’t like so many of the phones that have been coming out from a variety of vendors (including RIM with the Storm) that attempt to clone the iPhone. I think that is a good thing, because the BlackBerry has many advantages over the other phones. More >
Antennagate: The End of the Matter?
Aug 1st

Well, Apple had their press conference, and mainly reiterated the same things that Apple PR, Steve Jobs himself and their fanboi legions have been saying ever since stonewalling failed, Steve’s advice on hand positioning cratered and the “Hey, we messed up the software, it was showing too many bars before” defense failed epically.
Basically, Steve said that this is all manufactured by the media and people who hate Apple and any successful company, that it is a problem for all smartphones which affects a very small minority of iPhone users, and that Apple will provide cases to anyone who wishes as well as their previously announced refund offer. In his review of the trackpad, Diaz explains: More >
