Just few days ago, Steve Jobs said that the White iPhone 4 would be available at the end of July in limited quantities. Well, it looks like he spoke a bit too soon. This morning Apple released a brief statement letting us know that the white iPhone 4 will not ship this month. In fact, the only timetable they are comfortable providing is that it will ship sometime between August 1 and December 31. More >

Sony has a potentially big issue on their hands considering nearly 535,000 laptops in the F and CW Series might have an overheating problem. Basically the heat-monitoring chips of the laptops don’t accurately monitor the heat produced by the laptop, and this problem is caused by a flawed BIOS. The machines can overheat enough to cause burns and warp the casing. More >

Many of Sony’s 2010 notebooks now have bright colors as regular options, and the VAIO Y we’re looking at can be customized with any of six choices. Our review unit came in Pear Green; other exotic color options include Purple Violet and Teal Blue. Most of the color choices are loud and geared towards the college or home-use crowd, but more professional looking silver and black models are also available. More >

Sprint’s anticipated Android 2.2 update to the HTC Evo 4G should launch tomorrow and will tote a few surprise additions, a leaked memo confirmed. The patch will give the expected OS benefits but will also add new camera-focused features with better 720p video and options to use the flash as a flashlight or as a focus assist for movies. A spate of new widgets will also come about, and Engadget’s copy of the note says these will focus on basics like the calculator, FM radio, messages lists and settings. More >
